Republic of Sudan (official name) or Sudan. As it is located in Africa the given name Sudan is a result of the land of the dark skin which is prominent in Africa, anyhow the idea of Sudanese nationalism goes back to the third and fourth decade of the 20th century when it was popularized by young intellectuals. Sudan’s independence was in 19th of December 1955 inside the parliament and declared to the public on 1st January 1956. It is located in North-East Africa; it is boarded by seven countries; Egypt, Libya, Chad, Republic of Central Africa, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Eritrea.  It is the third largest country in Africa particularly the Arab world. It was the largest country in Africa before the referendum of South Sudan in 2011.

Population and states: –

The population of Sudan is 41,592,539 was estimated in June 2019, they reside in an area covers about 1,886,068 km2. There are18 states in Sudan; Khartoum (capital), Red Sea, Kassala, Al-Qadarif, White Nile, Blue Nile, River Nile, Gezira, Northern, Sennar, North Darfur, South Darfur, East Darfur, West Darfur, Central Darfur, North Kordofan, South Kordofan, and West Kordofan.

Largest cities: –

Omdurman is the largest city in Sudan among ten cities and they are; Khartoum, North Khartoum, Nyala, Port-Sudan, El-Obeid, Kassala, Wad Madani, Al-Qadarif and Al-Fashir.

Government: –

Interim government (Federal provisional government or transitional government) is the present government in Sudan. The prime minister is Abdallah Hamdok and the chairman of sovereignty council is Abdul Fattah Alburhan.

Economics: –

Economically, in 2010 it was considered as 17th fastest-growing of oil profit despite the international sanctions which was noted by The New York Times in 2006 article. The agricultural production still plays a great role and it is the most important sector in Sudan by employing 80 percent of workforce and contributing 39 percent of GDP (gross domestic product) therefor Sudan is expected to be largely open to international investment companies specially after taking off the international sanction from it. The coming phase in the economics of Sudan is also, expected to manifest a huge movement in Sudan’s port which is located in Port-Sudan and Port of Osman Digna due to their strategic location.
